Frequently asked questions
Why do some letters not convert in superscript or subscript?
Unicode superscript and subscript are not full alphabets — they were added character by character for math and science use. Some letters simply don’t have an official small equivalent yet. The tool warns you when this happens and shows the closest available alternative. Small Caps has full coverage and is the safest choice for complete sentences.
Will this work on Instagram, Discord and Twitter?
Yes. All styles use standard Unicode characters — the same kind used in emojis. They render correctly on all major platforms including Instagram, Discord, Twitter/X, Facebook, WhatsApp, Reddit and Notion.
What is the difference between Small Caps and Tiny Caps?
Small Caps uses one set of Unicode small capital glyphs (ᴀ ʙ ᴄ). Tiny Caps uses a slightly different set drawn from Unicode’s modifier letter block, giving a subtly different visual weight and style. Both have full alphabet coverage — it’s purely an aesthetic choice.
Can I use this for my Instagram bio?
Yes — this is one of the most popular uses. Small Caps and Superscript work particularly well in Instagram bios. Just copy your chosen style and paste it directly into the bio field in the Instagram app.
Is this a font or actual characters?
These are real Unicode characters, not fonts. That’s why they can be copied and pasted anywhere — they’re treated as regular text by every platform and app, just like letters or emojis.
